Confirmation instruction at Zion is a three-year process, beginning in the sixth grade. In the first year the children study the main stories of the Old Testament. During the second year, they delve into the New Testament, focusing on the main teachings of each book. And throughout the third year, they examine Luther's Small Catechism in preparation for participation in the Lord's Supper. We believe Confirmation is a reaffirmation of one's fath in Christ Jesus and not a graduation from the church. The completion of Confirmation means that a child is ready to become even more involved in the life of the church.
